Steps to realising goals

 
Luke 14:28 “ For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doth not first sit down and count the cost, whether he have wherewith to complete it?”

Introduction
Anyone that fails to plan has actually planned to fail. No concrete achievement can be attained without proper planning. Putting down the steps or things one needs to do in order to achieve one’s purpose not only ensure success but additionally, safeguards one from engaging in unproductive ventures. This stage involves getting your psyche to the point that you assume capability to solve a problem. It involves reading, listening to and speaking back to oneself in the light of the problem necessitating the goal. It realistically faces the problem as it is. It calculates the magnitude with intention to determine action plans. It looks at the available resources, and or finds complementary sources in the light of the divine mandate.

1. Brainstorming(thinking)
Wishful thinking is useful only as a motivational tool and should be embarked upon as it directs one to pursue the means to accomplish tasks sometimes
a.            Discuss the way Gideon analysed the situation with Israel as recorded in Judges
b.            II Kings 7:3,4- analyse the way the lepers handled the famine in Israel
2. Mobilisation of resources
People, money, self, time, comfort and relationships are resources one would need. (Gideon, Jesus, 12 disciples, Paul).-Mark 3:14; Luke 14:26; Philippians 3:7; Judges 6:27
Do not love sleep else you come to poverty... Prof 20:13
If you love honey and milk you will not be rich...be ready to give up privileges in order to achieve the purpose.
Speak truth and faith to those around you.
Be a person of integrity. A man who swears to his own and yet does not turn back. –Psalms 15:4
Keep a budget and adhere to it.
3. Training/pilot schemes
Kill the bear and the lion with the intention of rescuing the lamb...ISam 17:34
Be faithful over little...Luke 19:17
Fasting…Isaiah 58
Put the fleece for the dew and do not pour water on it. (Do not fake what you project yourself to be capable of doing.)-Judges 6:39,40.. Never think more highly of yourself than you really are.
Keep the sheep and do not kill them. (Joseph's brothers)-Prov 27:23
Trade off today for tomorrow-
Learn from failed attempts (Failures are events on the road to success)

4. Launching out.
Be courageous/Fear not…Joshua 1:6,7; Isaiah 35:4-7
Recount your small successes (during the training time)-David to Saul (ISam 17:36)

Be zealous
Keep the goal in view continuously…ISam 17:26
Accept pruning periodically…John 15
Keep your hand on the plow and never look back..Luke 9:62
Be concerned about your business only and not your neighbour's …John 21:21,22
