Family leadership principles II

Introduction: In the family, offence is very common as we tend to have high expectations for each other. When our anticipations are laid down, we feel hurt. This breeds a lot of discontent and bruises our egos. The end result is strife; and in extreme situations, separation and divorce. The way we handle problems with potentials to provoke soreness in relationships in the family can determine either we enjoy or endure our relationships in the family. This calls for appropriate display of leadership in the family, according to principles that have worked for our fathers in the faith. Family leadership principles (Abraham)

Introduction: God boasts about Abraham, “ ...that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD ” (Gen 18:19). Despite the inadequacies that were associated with Abraham, he had a testimony that he was a good family man; judged by his ability to command obedience in the ranks of his family. On one occasion, he marshalled an army and fought 5 kings, defeating them in battle to rescue Lot and his allies. It is not enough that Abraham or anyone for that matter is reckoned as full of faith, if the acclaimed virtue does not show up in the way we are able to lead our families.
