Family leadership principles II
Introduction: In the family, offence is very common as we
tend to have high expectations for each other. When our anticipations are laid
down, we feel hurt. This breeds a lot of discontent and bruises our egos. The
end result is strife; and in extreme situations, separation and divorce. The way
we handle problems with potentials to provoke soreness in relationships in the
family can determine either we enjoy or endure our relationships in the family.
This calls for appropriate display of leadership in the family, according to principles
that have worked for our fathers in the faith.

Summary: In our present society when quick fixes are the
norms, we need to be cautious with the manner we engage in solving our family
disputes. Immediate solutions may provide us a sense of vindication and
self-aggrandisement. However, the way of the Lord demands that we all should
win at the end. The race, remember, is not to the swift, but to who the Lord
shows mercy. A better way is to be proactive and engage in activities that
prevent conflicts from arising.
