Knowing God through Sarah

Introduction: When Sarai got married to Abram, she expected that she would give birth to children just like most women. Several years passed and yet she did not get pregnant. Abraham kept globe-trotting; from Iraq to Haran, Canaan, Egypt, Gerar and back to Canaan, yet Sarai’s issue remained unsolved. Abram became rich and prominent, able to command a force against 5 prominent kings and to conquer and rescue his cousin, Lot.  At last, when conditions were optimum, Sarah conceived and gave birth to Isaac (LAUGHTER).

Summary: God is bound by His promise to fulfil and it does not matter how long it takes. Since he is not bound by time but by His words, it appears to us as though he is coming too slowly when indeed He is never late according to His timing. When we give in to our anxieties, we commit a lot of errors and hurt. His mercy often overlooks our tendencies so that the glory of the fulfilment does not rest on OUR faith but on God’s faithfulness.
