Attitude towards wealth

Introduction: When you have wealth, many things seem to work well. It is such a great asset that Moses said, “...for it is He who gives you power to get wealth...” No doubt, every good and perfect gift is from God, our Father, with whom there is no favouritism. However, the experience of many church folks suggests that they are living below the line of survival. There is need to urgently recapture the benefits the Lord has prepared for our enjoyment, one of which is prosperity through provision of resources. God’s gifts are provided to those who are prepared for them. Today’s study deals with developing the right attitude that enhances the availability of wealth.
Text: Luke 12:12-21
·         Define wealth
·         How evil is money?
Exod 12:36, Prov 10:15
·         How far can wealth go?
Ps 49:17, Prov 27:24
·         Generators of wealth
Prov 3:16; 22:4, Isa 60:5,16; Dan 11:39; Matt 6:33; Luke 16:11
·         What attitude should we have towards wealth?
Luke 12:27; 1Tim 6:17; Prov 11:28; Ecc 5:10
Summary: Wealth is such an integral part of the covenant that God feels obliged to keep. We must not fail to create a disposition for Him to lavish us with as much as He has in store for us. He needs to know that we shall not be like that servant who will tie up the talent in a handkerchief owing to the wrong attitude he has about his master.
